The Driver's Blind Spot
The blind spot is known as the area behind the vehicle that the driver can not see. Kids ‘N Cars, a consumer organization working to make it safer for children to be around cars notes that at least 58 children were backed over and killed last year alone. Thus the blind spot can be a deadly spot. ReverseGUARD uses 4 ultrasound sensors to detect objects and persons within the critical range of the blind spot the last six to eight feet closest to the backing vehicle. When the vehicle is engaged in reverse, the ReverseGUARD sensors detect, and provide the driver an audible warning signal when there is an object or person within six to eight feet the path of the vehicle. The system covers a width consistent with the average vehicle bumper. ReverseGUARD supports and assists the driver in safe backing. |

| ReverseGUARD® is a patented, revolutionary new safety product designed to reduce accidents while backing by assisting the driver when their vehicle is in reverse. Four sensors built into the ReverseGUARD® system use the latest in ultrasonic technology to alert the driver of objects behind the vehicle.
When the driver puts the vehicle in reverse, ReverseGUARD® is automatically activated. ReverseGUARD® will sense when objects are within six to eight feet of the rear of the vehicle and will alert the driver by emitting an intermittent alarm inside the vehicle. As the vehicle moves closer to the object, the alarm alerting the driver sounds more quickly until a steady alarm is heard at a distance of about 1.5 feet. The ReverseGUARD® frame can be mounted with the sensors in an upper or lower orientation. ReverseGUARD® is manufactured to exacting standards using the best industrial grade components. This system can accommodate a wide range of vehicle applications. The Chrome Deluxe Frame System is offered in a high quality chrome plated finish that looks great on all vehicles. In addition to the auditory alarm heard by the driver, the Chrome Deluxe frame system includes an LED, providing the driver with a visual display of the distance between the rear of the vehicle and the object. The LED can be mounted, using a special mounting plate in a convenient location above the rear view mirror. |

Sensors and Coverage Area
The ReverseGUARD® system uses four ultrasound sensors built into a patented license plate frame design. Two sensors are located 5" apart and are angled to optimize coverage. The other two sensors are located on each side of the unit. The four sensors combined provide a field of coverage approximately equal to the width of a standard automobile and back a distance of 6' to 7' (8 feet maximum) from the unit. |
